Our Past Projects
At Marathon Technology Solutions we’ve worked with a wide-variety of clients across many different industries. Here is a quick look at some of the previous past projects we’ve completed and some additional details on the scope of the project:
GEICO — Marathon holds a 5-year cabling and maintenance contract with the local GEICO office in the Bethesda area.
Rackspace — Marathon holds a 5-year cabling service and maintenance contract with Rackspace in Ashburn, VA.
Jones, Lange, Lasalle — Marathon holds a Blanket Order Agreement (renewable yearly) and has been a BOA contract holder for the past 7 years. Performing voice and data installations
Carroll County Government — Marathon supported the network installation deploy for all switching, port deployment, and wireless installation in all new site and remodeled buildings for the past 7-years. We are tasked with port level testing to include network access to the outside world, wireless connectivity assurance and final closet installation including all patching and dressing. Our focus on detail and documentation has moved the college from an internal deployment plan to allowing Marathon to be the primary deployment manager and installer. We also hold a 5-year service agreement with the county.
Ongoing Operations — Marathon was tasked with providing circuit connectivity from the Service provider pole location across the parking lot to the data center within the building. Marathon met with the client and service provider to identify specific requires for the OSP installation and the ISP requirements. Site drawings were provided for review and acceptance followed by a project plan and schedule. Marathon completed the OSP conduit installation with acceptance by the service provider following completion. The ISP conduit and cabling requirements were installed following the OSP installation and signed-off on shortly after installation. The project proposal that was presented was under the client’s budget and allowed them to purchase additional equipment needed for future installations.
Loyola Blakefield — Marathon supplied, installed, terminated and tested a new fiber backbone infrastructure between the campus buildings as well as intra-building fiber between the TRs. These fiber backbones were comprised of a combination of both single-mode and multi-mode cables, installed in existing and new conduit pathways between buildings. All existing fiber was removed or re-tested to ensure connectivity. This project was designed with a collaboration of the IT systems Engineer and the client network administrator. Through teaming with our outside plant contractor (PEI), our Program management team (Success By Design) and our Project Management team within Marathon, the project was a complete success with building cut-over schedules, implementation planning and installation coordination. All design drawings and proposed products were reviewed with the client for acceptance and approval.
